Xcepted Corporation founder and owner Sherrie Handshoe, MSW, LCSW, has a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degree, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She has nine years of experience working with the intellectually-disabled population in the capacity of a behavior consultant.
Sherrie has experience working with those on the Autism spectrum and those with sensory processing issues. She takes each case individually and accepts the challenge to make a difference in the individual’s life along with the lives of those around the individual.
Sherrie has experience in training direct-care professionals and parents in developing and implementing behavior modification in the home and at work, as well as in community and school settings. She will take on any challenging behaviors, striving to make a difference in the client’s life.
Prior to working with individuals in the Medicaid Waiver program, she worked with juveniles in Allen County.
Jennifer, earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in May 2008 from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) through a cohort program offered at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (now known as Purdue Fort Wayne). Prior to becoming a Behavior Consultant, she worked with youth and their families for the Indiana Department of Child Services for 21 years.
She enjoys practicing in a field serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, assisting them to improve their quality of life, building lasting relationships, and improving personal growth. Her goal is to enhance the skills of the individual by centering on a client-driven, strength-based approach in which the client's goals and personal strengths are the priority of the treatment team.
Jennifer was excited to join Xcepted Corporation in October 2018 after four years of working as a Behavior Consultant in Allen County, Grant County, and surrounding Indiana counties.

Megan has a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) acquired in May 2020 from Ball State University. Megan’s passion for working with children with disabilities started in the summer of 2015, when she was a nanny for two boys with Asperger’s. Following that summer, she picked up a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis during her undergrad at Ball State University. After Megan graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in December 2017, she got a job as a Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) at an ABA center in Fort Wayne in February 2018. Her background at the ABA clinic helped her build her experience with working with high behaviors, low behaviors, high functioning, low functioning and children with not only a diagnosis of Autism, but other intellectual- disabilities as well. Megan worked with clients in the clinic ranging in age from 2 to 14 years old. Megan is very passionate about this field and wanted to learn more, so she started her Master of Arts in ABA August 2018 to start her journey to becoming a BCBA. While working over 40 hours a week at the ABA clinic and pursuing her master’s degree, she was accumulating supervision hours from a BCBA at the clinic. In August 2019, Megan became a RBT Fellow, meaning she worked alongside a BCBA to learn more, consult with clients and RBTs, and accumulate supervision hours that she needed in order to take the board exam to become a BCBA after she finished her master’s degree.
Megan wanted to bridge the gap between clinic and home, and this is when she started looking into becoming a Behavior Consultant while studying for the board exam. Megan was excited about this opportunity and joined Xcepted Corp in December 2020 to become a Behavior Consultant. Megan then passed her board exam to become a BCBA in February 2021. Megan continues to grow her knowledge in this field and enjoys expanding on her experience while continuing her career as a Behavior consultant. Megan enjoys creating behavior plans that are individualized and fits each client’s needs. Megan’s goal is to be able to help as many people as she can in becoming independent and have the best quality of life. Megan is a passionate, driven, dedicated, and caring person to work with. She enjoys helping not only the clients that she works with, but also the families of those clients and the staff.
Brooke has a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degree, from Indiana University. She has a Bachelor of social Work obtained from Indiana Wesleyan University. Brooke has eleven years of experience working with the intellectually-disabled population, prior to becoming a Behavior Consultant. She worked as a direct care professional supporting individuals in Medicaid waiver homes, supportive living and workshop setting. Brooke worked her way up to Program Coordinator, coordinating training, staffing and services for members with intellectual disabilities. She has two years of experience working with families and children involved in the Department of Child Services. Brooke provided case management and behavioral modification to children involved in with the Department.
Brooke understands the working systems within the waiver world. She has experience working with individuals of all variance of needs. Brooke maintains a client centered approach and strongly advocates for each client’s needs. She has experience advocating for needs within the school corporation, community and Medicaid waiver setting. Brooke enjoys working with those with intellectual disabilities and making positive changes in their lives.
Brandi has a Master’s of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis. She experience working in the capacity of a CNA/QMA in the medical field. Brandi has worked several years as a Direct Support Professional, working with children and adults with Disabilities. She has worked as an RBT at an ABA clinic with children from the ages of two to thirteen. Brandi loves helping others and the joy it brings.
Brandi finds great pleasure meeting families and individuals that she serves and helping the individual have a meaningful life. Compassion, dedication and communication are very important to her. Brandi is excited to be a part of Xcepted Corp and looking forward to the growth and opportunities in the field.
John has a M.S. degree in psychology with a concentration in applied behavior analysis from Purdue Global University, as well as a graduate certification in education and B.A. in English and history from Indiana University. John has 12 years experience as a trainer of managers and staff with a company that works with individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and day programming settings. In addition, he has worked with Purdue Fort Wayne in the disability services department handing student disability accommodations, and also for many years as an adjunct college instructor at several universities.
In 2018, John co-authored a book with a friend who discussed his diagnosis, treatment, and struggles with coming to terms with bipolar disorder. John is a neurodiversity advocate, having learned to deal with his own Asperger’s Syndrome (a type of Autism Spectrum Disorder) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). John has organized and led an ongoing support group for young adults/adults with autism for the past four years. He also helps organize the College Autism Summit, an annual conference which brings together scholars, practitioners, administrators, employers, and self-advocates to discuss strategies that help support students with autism in college and transition to employment and independent living after college.
Aneshia, has a Master of Science in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis degree. Prior to becoming a Behavior Consultant, she worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) at an ABA clinic. She gained experience working with low to high behaviors, and low to high functioning children ages 2 to 14 that were diagnosed primarily with Autism. Aneshia accumulated 1500 supervision hours during her master’s program while working alongside several BCBA at the clinic.
Prior to working in an ABA clinic, Aneshia worked as a direct support professional (DSP) in a waiver home with adults. While working in the waiver setting she was able to gain experience and knowledge about the intellectually-disabled population.
Aneshia's biggest motivation is her daughter, who is on the spectrum. Aneshia understands how the waiver works as a professional in the field but also as a parent. She joined Xcepted Corp so she could give back and help others like they have helped her, she strives to make a difference in not only the client's life but the entire families!
