Minimum Requirements

Recreational Therapist – Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Recreational Therapy/Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college or university. 
  • CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification required
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and provider personnel requirements. 
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to individuals' homes and community locations. 
  • Ability to complete assessments, develop individualized recreational therapy treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and document progress. 
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with individuals, families, guardians, case managers, providers, and other members of the individual's support team. 

Behavior Consultant – Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in one of the following: 
    • Clinical psychology 
    • Counseling psychology 
    • School psychology or another applied health-service area of psychology 
    • Special education 
    • Social work 
    • Counseling 
    • Applied behavior analysis (ABA)  
  • OR be an Indiana LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.  
  • Must meet all applicable Indiana FSSA/DDARS/BDS Behavioral Support Services provider qualifications and personnel requirements. 
  • Must complete required background checks and required trainings. 
  • Must maintain at least 10 hours of continuing education annually related to behavioral supports, as required by BDS.  
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to individuals' homes and community settings. 
  • Ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), develop Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), collect and analyze behavioral data, provide training, monitor outcomes, and complete required documentation. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with individuals, guardians, families, residential providers, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
